Back in 1882 Charles A. Dana, publis­her of the New York Sun, famous­ly sta­ted: “When a dog bites a man, that’s not news. But when a man bites a dog, that’s news.”

Our agen­cy is cal­led Mann beißt Hund becau­se we fol­low this long-established jour­na­listic princip­le as a gene­ral gui­de­li­ne for com­mu­ni­ca­ti­ons. The claim is simp­le: The unusu­al attracts your atten­ti­on, not the ordi­na­ry. With our cli­ents we deve­lop excep­tio­nal and uni­que topics, visu­als and chan­nels for com­mu­ni­ca­ti­ons, on- and off­line.

Who are we?

Mann beißt Hund is loca­ted in Hamburg’s crea­tive dis­trict of Bah­ren­feld. The agen­cy was foun­ded in 1999 by Nico­la Wes­sin­g­hage and Mar­cus Flat­ten who both have their roots in jour­na­lism. Mann beißt Hund employs 13 per­ma­nent mem­bers of staff with huma­nistic and sci­en­ti­fic back­grounds. We work toge­ther with a net­work of gra­phic desi­gners, web desi­gners, pro­gramm­ers, and pho­to­graph­ers. Our part­ners are tried and tes­ted. They fol­low the same phi­lo­so­phy as we do.

Who are our clients?

We focus on com­mu­ni­ca­ti­ons in the fiel­ds of edu­ca­tion, sci­ence and health.
